Tag Aquaracer Chronograph

The next of my Christmas picks is for men and is the Tag Aquaracer Chronograph. Actually there is a whole range of Aquaracer Chronographs and I have picked 2 specific designs.
First of all, what is a chronograph watch? A chronograph is simply a timepiece that can measure time more accurately, by incorporating a stopwatch function and usually sub dials that keep track of seconds, minutes and hours, or even fractions of seconds. They are especially designed for sporting environments where precise timekeeping can be vital.
The two chronographs I have chosen are almost exactly the same, just separated by one or two features (and a number at the end of the model). In fact, the reason I am showing you two is simply a matter of slight design variations and a couple of hundred dollars.
The first is the Tag Heuer Men’s Aquaracer Swiss Chronograph Stainless Steel, model number CAF1112.BA0803. It has a dark blue dial with silver hand and hour markers. The case and bracelet are polished/brushed stainless steel and it has a deployment clasp (a deployment clasp is when the clasp opens out and folds back in again to close, and is usually in 3 sections).

With Christmas fast-approaching I thought it was time to share some of my top picks for Tag Aquaracer watches this season. Starting off with the ladies' watches and especially the Tag Aquaracer diamond watches that are available.

Tag Aquaracers may be designed with sports people in mind, especially those involved with yachting and other water sports, but they are so beautifully designed that even a sports-phobe would love one.

The design is so simple and clean yet stylish and feminine, and would work as a wear-to-the-office or a going-out watch. Of course, once of its main appeals is the diamond accents, in the hour markers and bezel. The white mother of pearl dial just adds to the glamour.

Tag Heuer have been a name synonymous with remarkable timepieces since 1860, when watchmaker Edouard Heuer first opened up shop in the Swiss village of St-Imier. The Tag Aquaracer model was launched in 1982 with the discerning sportsman in mind, particularly divers, yachtsmen rowers and other water sports enthusiasts. They offer the same style, reliability and accuracy as all Tag Heuer watches but with the added benefit of durability and precision in more extreme conditions.

There are a variety of different models within the Tag Aquaracer range, depending on the wearer's needs. In general, though, they are all water resistant to depths of at least a few hundred feet (and up to 1000 feet for some models such as the Calibre S Regatta). They have a calibrated bezel design with different functions depending on the use, a scratch resistant dial window and feature luminous hands and markers. The majority have a stainless steel linked straps but some are available with rubber wristbands.

The women's range of Tag Aquaracer watches is also designed for those who want to enjoy water sports in style. They are extremely elegant in their design and less sporty looking than the men's range, but with the same emphasis on durability under extreme conditions. The women's range has many more feminine and chic touches (as would be expected), such as pink or blue mother-of-pearl faces, 18 carat gold bezels, two-tone straps and diamond hour markers.

Current and former spokespeople for the Tag Heuer Aquaracer brand, who are believed to embody its values and image of strength, style and elegance, include tennis player Maria Sharapova, professional basketball player Yao Ming, Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan and swimmer Leisel Jones. With the Beijing Olympics just starting some of these names are going to be hot under the media spotlight - which means the brands they promote will also be in the limelight (an important event for Tag Heuer and for all the individual and Games' sponsors).
